Christina Bihr: Christina Bihr was born in Germany and married Mathias Bosch in New York. They brought their family in a covered wagon to homestead in the Manderson area in 1895. There were very few farmers in the area at that time, but six German farmers built the first irrigation ditch. Christina came from Germany as a bride and had been told America was a land of milk and honey. She soon learned life in the western frontier was a hard one.
