Charlie George came to Worland to start a blacksmith shop. As a small boy, he had his foot smashed by a train while picking up coal along side the tracks. He learned to read from the Montgomery Ward catalog. Charlie served as a Justice of the Peace until his death in 1951. - adapted from "A History of Washakie County"
