AbstractsHaynes - GRITHaynes

In early 1913, LF Haynes and his wife, Ellen, moved to Worland. Ellen and the children spent their first week in town at the Dorman Hotel. The town at the time was about one long block with board walks and dirt streets. They moved out onto South Flat and then on to Copper Mountain to help with sheep. In the fall the family returned to South Flat and the children attended school. The South Flat community was comprised of many good neighbors who gathered often for dancing, skating, box socials and school functions. - adapted from "A History of Washakie County"
